Today, we are still mired – halfway across the globe – in a war that President Bush should never have dragged us into in the first place. Darius will fight to bring America’s soldiers home from an endless war in Iraq that is costing us precious lives and sapping our economy.
While our brave men and women in uniform have done all that’s been asked of them, it’s time to bring them home. Darius strongly supports "The Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq", which addresses both immediate and long-term concerns in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as here at home. Endorsed by numerous military, foreign and domestic policy experts, this proposal is a comprehensive plan calling for the passage of seventeen Democratic-sponsored bills. The core objectives are to end U.S. military action in Iraq, repair the diplomatic and humanitarian damage done by the war and subsequent occupation, and prevent a repeat of similar foreign policy blunders in the future.
Darius believes that a shift from military to economic, humanitarian, and diplomatic efforts is exactly what we need to end our troops’ involvement in Iraq – rapidly, responsibly and reasonably. In Congress, he will fight to bring our soldiers home to their families, so our resources can be better deployed – both abroad and domestically.
