Renew America's Promise to Those who Have Fought to Protect our Nation

When our men and women in uniform come back to American soil, Darius will fight to support them and their families in every way possible as they re-adjust to civilian life.

Darius supports America’s soldiers when they are protecting our interests and security overseas, but he also believes we must also show support when they come back home to their families in Schenectady, Canajoharie or Johnstown. These brave men and women in uniform have served us with honor. We, in return, are honor-bound to serve them and their families by ensuring the healthcare, support, services and jobs they deserve and were promised.

As Congresswoman Gillibrand’s Capital District representative, Darius fought on behalf of veterans so they received the benefits that they are entitled to but which the bottleneck bureaucracy kept from them. Darius was appalled when he learned that the Army was blocking Veterans Affairs' officials from helping injured soldiers at Fort Drum prepare their disability claims, which was potentially leading to reduced benefits for those who needed help. This is no way to serve those who have served us.

When we send Darius to Congress, he will continue to work hard so our returning veterans have the best benefits in place and at their ready-disposal. He will stand up for our veterans and he’ll fight to make sure our soldiers aren’t losing their homes, their families, their businesses or their jobs. And he will work to create a 21st century GI Bill – similar to the one that was created when our parents and grandparents came home from World War II.
