Albany, N.Y. – Today Darius Shahinfar, the Democratic Congressional Candidate running to replace Michael McNulty, announced his pre-primary FEC filings. Darius For Congress reported contributions of $125,268.91 between July 1 and August 20 and cash on hand amounting to $192,101.12. After filing, Darius issued the following statement:
"I am pleased to report that our campaign has raised over $330,000 with the help of supporters looking to avoid another career politician or lobbyist being sent to Washington. As the only candidate in this race who has signed the Ethics and Good Governance Contract, I am proud to say that lobbyist and corporate PAC money has not contributed to Renewing America's Promise. With little more than a week left in this race, I am eager to keep going door to door and meeting people in our district. The overwhelming support from our grassroots campaign has truly shown how people are looking for change, and I will deliver that when elected to Congress.
